Erica Buist is a freelance journalist working mostly for the Guardian, though she has also appeared in several literary magazines and anthologies, as well as numerous publications such as the BBC, The Sunday Times, Refinery29, The Huffington Post and Medium. She is currently writing a book in which she travels to seven of the world's death festivals. The book, This Party's Dead, will be published in 2020. Erica has been a writer-in-residence at the Wellstone Center in the Redwoods (CA), Vermont Studio Center (VT), Faber (Spain) and Arte Studio Ginestrelle, (Italy). She speaks fluent Spanish, advanced French and Italian, a little Japanese and frankly moronic Mandarin. She is from London but now lives in the Cotswolds with her husband, dog and three cats.
