A graduate of Duke Law School and the University of North Carolina, James Garrison practiced law until returning to his first loves: writing and literature. Recently, he won first place (for poetry) for his poem “A Rising Tide” in a contest sponsored by the Houston Writers Guild Press, while two other poems, “War of the Martins and Sparrows” and “A Dangerous World,” received honorable mentions. All three poems are included in an HWG Press anthology, Out of Many, One, released on April 28, 2017. His novel, QL 4 (literary crime set in the Mekong Delta during the Vietnam War, published by TouchPoint Press) was released May 5, 2017, on Amazon in both Kindle and paperback versions.
