Benjamin Shalva lives in Baltimore, Maryland with his wife, Sara, and their two children. He is the author of two books -- Spiritual Cross-Training: Searching through Silence, Stretch, and Song and Ambition Addiction: How to Go Slow, Give Thanks, and Discover Joy Within. His stories and articles have appeared in numerous publications including daCunha, The Washington Post, Psychology Today, Success Magazine, Kveller, Relevant, MindBodyGreen, EverydayPower, The Good Men Project, and Spirituality & Health Magazine.
When not writing, Benjamin works as a rabbi, meditation teacher, and yoga instructor. He received his rabbinical ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City and his yoga teacher certification from the Yogic Physical Culture Academy in Los Cabos, Mexico. He leads seminars around the country in Spiritual Cross-Training, Ambition Addiction Counseling, Kabbalah Yoga, Jewish Meditation, and Mindfulness Meditation, and makes frequent television, radio, and podcast appearances, including on such programs as Great Day Washington, Milwaukee's Morning Blend, San Francisco's Motivation Mondays with Brian Copeland, Seattle's Effortless Mind Radio Hour, The One You Feed Podcast, Man Talks Podcast, Conscious Living Podcast, and 33 Voices Podcast. He also serves on the faculty of the Soul Center in Baltimore, the Jewish Mindfulness Center of Washington, and is the camp rabbi for Tamarack Camps in Detroit, Michigan.
